MIDDLE GRADE BOOKS

In the strange and quiet town of Drakeville, PA, an anxious twelve-year-old named Carter Chrysler wends his way through life, trying to avoid his bully.  Carter is as skinny as a twig these days, earning him the unfortunate nickname ‘Stretch-a-Sketch.’ Adding insult to injury (and since twigs are easy to break), his bully makes him faint simply by a face-to-face encounter. Carter wishes it weren’t so.

As if life isn’t tough enough, Carter faces a supernatural event that places a heavy burden on his frail shoulders. He must travel back in time to face his bully’s father, who is not only a bully but also a killer. Phew! It’s overwhelming. Yet Carter makes the effort, striving to rise to the challenge: a time-travel mission to stop the murder of his own dad.

Experienced time-traveling friends join Carter to provide the know-how and moral support he needs, but somehow, and in some way, it’s Carter who takes charge. The question is, can he find enough courage to stand toe-to-toe with the meanest bully of all?
